Gathered and Scattered
Being a Gathered Church
We love to gather together on Sunday mornings and during the week, in both large and small groups, to celebrate what God is doing in our lives and to discover more about the life that God created for each of us to live. Though we love being together, we also realize that following Jesus means going where He is going. Jesus asks us to follow Him to dwell among people from all walks of life, spiritual and unspiritual, just like He did. As a ‘missional’ church, we are learning what it means to scatter throughout our community and the world to proclaim the gospel in word and deed.
Here at Walnut Grove Church there are many ways in which we gather as a church, some of them are:
- Sunday Morning Services (at 10am)
Sundays we gather together to learn from the Bible-God’s road map for us. Through a blend of both traditional and contemporary music, we worship God with our voices.
- “Wednesday Night Live” (7:00pm-8:30pm)
Men, Women, Middle School and High School kids, and children Nursery-5th grade all gather to learn more about their journey with God.
- All Church Events (BBQ’s, Campouts, etc.)
Whether its a bbq, campout, or a retreat, we love to gather together and find out what is going on in each other lives.
- ..and many more.
Being a Scattered Church
The mission of the church is to be “scattered” throughout the world and engage it with the gospel. There’s a reason “Go and make disciples” has been dubbed the Great Commission. It is His charge to us, His church, to take the message of good news and proclaim it to the world. Just as there are various ways that we gather as a church, here are some of the ways that we ‘scatter’ and live life on mission:
- Partnering with local schools
- Serving Family needs in our community
- Men’s, Women’s and Youth Outreach Endeavors
- Missionary Support
- ..and many more.
